In his sophomore film, Hollywood actor / director, Robert Duvall paints a portrait of a New York Gypsy community and, in particular, the relentless quest of one boy (Angelo) to regain possession of a family ring.
Treading an elegant line between documentary and fiction, the cast is played almost entirely by real life characters, resulting in performances that are fresh and engaging, none more so, than that of the elfin, street-smart Angelo.
Far removed from the world of caravans and horses, Duvall's understated gaze allows the trials, hopes and dreams of this city community to spring to life.
