MASTERCLASS BOOKED OUT!
Join Center for Digital Storytelling Founder Joe Lambert, and Helen Simondson, who heads up the Digital Storytelling program at ACMI, in a special Train-the-Trainer master workshop.
For multimedia educators, community media facilitators and experienced design professionals, this will be an opportunity to make a short digital story and discuss methods and practices for supporting grassroots media projects using Digital Storytelling.
Day One is a half day and includes an overview of the history and practice of Digital Storytelling, a group self-assessment of the skills required for facilitating digital storytelling and depending on the time, an exploration of the story circle feedback process with 150 word scripts created by participants.
Day Two will continue with the story circle feedback process as well as introduce the softwares used in digital storytelling, and approaches to teaching new users.
In the final Day participants will prepare a rough edit of their work which will be screened to the class. The group will then discuss the implementation of Digital Storytelling projects and programs in the participants' own communities.
Pre-requisite: Two years professional experience as a technology educator, community media or media literacy specialist, with demonstrable academic or professional experience with the design tools used in digital media production (digital photography, graphic design, video or animation).
