Jean Burgess is based in the Creative Industries Faculty, QUT. She is undertaking a doctoral study on the contemporary politics of amateur content production entitled Vernacular Creativity and New Media. As part of her research she has worked as a trainer on several digital storytelling workshops, and lectures regularly on digital storytelling, new media and DIY culture at QUT.
