| Four Weeks in June |
This riveting cross-generational drama focuses on the friendship between an elderly Jewish woman, Lilly, and a troubled twentysomething Swedish girl. Thrown together by accident as neighbours in a dilapidated apartment building, a budding friendship between this sullen young woman and her Jewish neighbour soon develops.
Based upon a wartime story told to him by his mother, writer/director Henry Meyer has subtly set this contemporary story against a backdrop of Jewish lives and loves ruptured by history.
Winner of the Crystal Bear at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival and the opening night film at this year's San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. Australian premere.
