Colombian Ciro Guerra's opera-prima is the story of an unusual friendship that parallels the country's recent violence; a contemplative, sober and sometimes hopeful look at today's Colombia through the strange relationship of two physically and spiritually crippled men.
Through poetry and metaphor, Guerra's debut feature film expresses conflict without bullets, redemption without religion, and in the journey, a new and unique directorial vision emerges from Latin America.
