Yiddish Soul
In this timely two-part documentary and live-concert film, Italian filmmakers Nathalie Rossetti and Turi Finocchiaro take us on a musical journey that traces the revival of Yiddish singing in present-day Europe.

Focusing on a new generation of performers, Yiddish Soul follows the musicians on tour across Europe, where they are joined by a venerable, older generation of Yiddish singers. Far from being on its last legs, Yiddish music is being embraced by new audiences and performers, many of them not Jewish, as part of the international concert repertoire.

All the performers are wonderful, especially Karsten Troyke, whose fargessene Yiddish liedern (forgotten Yiddish songs) are earning him the reputation of being the pre-eminent Yiddish performer in Europe today.
