| The Tulse Luper Journey |
The Tulse Luper Journey is an online interactive journey through 20th century European history. Based on director Peter Greenaway's film trilogy
The Tulse Luper Suitcases, the journey reconstructs the life of Tulse Luper through 92 suitcases.
During the Melbourne International Arts Festival, three of these suitcases will be presented as an installation in the Games Lab. These suitcases are based on three of the games in
The Tulse Luper Journey entitled:
Fooddrop,
Vatican Porn and
Photographs of Tulse Luper.
Around the world, players are in search of the suitcases. Those that are recovered are sent to scientific institutes where researchers can study their content. There is so much material that new investigators (players) can join the online-game community and help collect the fragmented pieces of information that together form the story of Luper's life.
With every suitcase that is solved, a player gains a one-minute film sequence showing parts of Tulse Luper's adventures. The object of the games is to piece together all these film sequences to reveal the complex story of Tulse Luper's life.
