Looking for Reconciliation?

Marion Stalens, France/South Africa, 52 mins, 2005, Digital Betacam. Courtesy: la boîte 2 prod

Stalens travels to South Africa, where her sister Juliette Binoche is working on Country of My Skull, John Boorman's Cape Town-set film about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings that followed the dismantling of Apartheid.

Both Boorman's film and Stalen's documentary seek to investigate how a nation may transcend a violent and traumatic collective history to create a new society.

Australian premiere.
