Memories of Moomba is a digital storytelling exhibition that celebrates 50 years of Moomba.
The stories explore the history of the parade and life as a Sun Moomba Queen. It traces the history of a well-known carnival family and highlights the achievements of the key figures involved in the wild and the wacky water events. Most importantly it shares the real translation of the word Moomba!
Extraordinary photos and footage illustrate the glory days of the street parade, the whirlwind events of a Moomba Queen, speedboats on the Yarra River and what was at the time the biggest and scariest rides in the Southern Hemisphere.
