THEMATIC TWO
storytelling and the digital generation

Digital Storytelling as inquiry based learning
There are three primary learning modalities: visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic. Many people possess traits that are characteristic of two or more modality types, processing information differently in different situations. Inquiry-based learning, such as learners interacting with digital stories, allows for a fluid manipulation and construction of knowledge.
Session Two: Saturday 4 February, 11.15am

Digital inclusion: cultural exclusion
What skills do young people need to fully participate in an era of media convergence? How do we deal with inequalities of participation in a digital world? What new models are emerging from informal educational communities that might be leveraged to help young people become more critically aware, more creative, and to participate more ethically in this new media environment?
Session Four: Saturday 4 February, 4.15pm

Workshop: Working in communities; the practicalities
Session Three: Saturday 4 February, 2pm
