Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait
Three time FIFA World Player of the Year and Most Outstanding Player of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Zinedine Zidane will be on the big screen at ACMI in a special screening of Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait.
Known affectionately as Zizou to his fans worldwide and consistently ranked as one of the most popular personalities in France, Zinédine Zidane was, during his career, one of the most talented and sought after football players in the world.
Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, is part documentary and part installation, destined to thrill and entertain sports and film fans alike.
In the hands of much-admired cinematographer Darius Khonji, seventeen cameras were utilised to capture every movement of Zidane during a 90-minute soccer match between Real Madrid and Villarreal in 2005.
Featuring a voice-over from Zidane himself - reflecting on his performance throughout the match - the documentary offers audiences a rare insight into the legendary soccer player's thoughts.
Filmed in real time utilising both High Definition and Super 35mm film, the 360-degree perspective captures all the action and excitement of being at the match, accompanied by an awesome soundtrack from Scottish band Mogwai.
Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait is a remarkable insight into the flair and agility of this world-renowned French player.
