wanted: kids of all ages to save the world from animated aliens in scoot, an interactive treasure hunt at federation square this saturday april 9
Special school holidays event! Bring your mobile and the whole family and confront animated aliens and circus carnies in Scoot, an interactive magical quest for all ages taking place at ACMI, Federation Square and ArtPlay on Saturday April 9.
Scoot is a parallel virtual world that exists in the same space as Federation Square. Due to a tear in the fabric of spacetime that separates the world of Scoot from our 'real world', Aliens are poised to invade..and only you can stop them!
A location-based game for all ages, Scoot takes participants on a unique interactive treasure hunt through the virtual world (online world at ACMI) and the real world of ACMI, ArtPlay and Federation Square, which will be populated by strange objects and magical animated characters.
Using the form of treasure hunt and puzzle games in the real world, as well as on-line navigation and flash games, Scoot is played out via SMS instructions sent to participants mobile phones.
The game begins with players receiving a mystery SOS message leading them to the world of Scoot. In order to avoid invasion, players must seek help, solve clues and complete challenges.
Great prizes to be won: the team with the highest number of points will win a Nintendo DS (the latest groovy handheld game from Nintendo) and 5 x $100 vouchers from JB Hi-Fi.
Be one of the few to take part in this exciting adventure!
How to enter:
Scoot is suitable for all ages, so bring your entire family. Participants should register in groups of 2 to 6 players. Each group requires one mobile phone to play. A maximum of 44 groups can participate so make sure you register your interest early by calling our box office on 8663 2583.
At 10am, the first two groups will commence the game, followed by two more groups every 15 minutes until 3pm. Make sure you allow 2 hours to complete the quest.
Note to parents: if you are bringing younger children we suggest you call ahead to pre-book your start time (and also to avoid disappointment)
Scoot is presented with the support of the City of Melbourne, Federation Square, Queensland University of Technology and ArtPlay.
