wildlife tycoon: venture africa
developer Pocketwatch Games, a San Diego, California-based company, is dedicated to making enriching entertainment that encourages players to explore and discover the intricacies of real-world issues and locations. With the development of Venture Africa and future titles, Pocketwatch Games intends to use video games as a platform to improve knowledge of the environment and contribute to the intellectual development of young gamers.
The company was founded in January, 2005 by Andy Schatz, a veteran of the video game industry. His story is like many other developers that have chosen to go independent: he thought that large commercial games were becoming less interesting to play, more expensive to build, and less rewarding to create.
Pocketwatch Games is currently developing Venture Arctic, an ecosystem simulator set in the icy northern reaches of the globe. Seasonal changes, aquatic and terrestrial life forms, and authentic Inuit lore make this title another unique and enriching gaming experience.
