nine-year-old slays dragon to become champion animator

As part of our Eyes, Lies and Illusions exhibition we ran a competition asking you to create a flip book animation. All you needed was a pencil, a sticky note pad and bit of inspiration.
Nine-year-old Rafael Moreira blew us away with his fairytale creation. He said he drew inspiration from the original Godzilla motion picture.
Rafael has won an 'Animation Dream Pack' from the ACMI Shop including animation DVDs from the master Hayao Miyazaki and Australia's Leunig, some drawing and animation books to encourage his budding talent, and merchandise showing the origins of animation.
We hope to see some more great work from Rafael in the future!
