Agnes and His Brothers

15 April - 24 April 2005

Now in its fourth year the Festival of German Films has established a strong position in Australia's film calendar.

The vibrant new wave of German cinema has provided the festival with an increasing number of exciting films, resulting in a high profile program of recently released features, documentaries and shorts, many of which were featured at this year's Berlin Film Festival.

Highlights of the festival include the screening of the controversial Downfall staring Bruno Ganz as Hitler in his final days, Go for Zucker! an unorthodox comedy and the first post-1945 German-Jewish comedy to be made in Germany and Heimat 3 - A Chronicle of Endings and Beginnings, the third in Edgar Reitz's extraordinary trilogy.
