Christine Peacock is Torres Strait Islander, descendent of the village of Isem on the eastern island of Erub (Darnley). She is a principal member of Uniikup Productions Ltd., trading as Murriimage Community Video and Film Service, a Brisbane based Indigenous arts media organisation established in 1985. As Producer/Director, Christine has produced a substantial body of work with and for the Indigenous population of South East Queensland. This specialist practice creates memory maps, in that the work, like the people, is located in the land, and shares a parallel existence in time - past, present and future.
