The Man Who Knew Too Much
Heralding a series of sharp, entertaining thrillers, The Man Who Knew Too Much propelled Hitchcock towards the crime genre and international renown.

While holidaying in Switzerland, a couple witness a murder and their daughter is kidnapped. Unwittingly thrust into an international conspiracy, they must rely on their own cunning to outwit the criminal gang. Peter Lorre, in his first English-speaking role, is fabulously sinister as the lead conspirator.

Hitchcock remade the film in 1955 with James Stewart and Doris Day, however the original is arguably superior with its genuine undertones of social menace and intensely cinematic finale.
