A moving tribute to a unique artist, this is the first and only complete film about the life and work of Chilean singer/songwriter Violeta Parra, best known internationally for her song 'Gracias a la vida'.

Vera's documentary delves into the life of this complex woman, as Violeta sings, dances, weaves, paints, and discusses the concepts of her work.

Alongside rare recordings of her performances, the film features interviews with family and friends, including her brothers, poet Nicanor and jazz maestro Tio Lalo Parra; her daughter, singer Isabel Parra; and fellow musicians Silvio Rodriguez, Mercedes Sosa, Inti Illimani and more.

Please note: This program replaces the previously advertised Todo es Futbol! Tickets already purchased are valid for this session. Please contact the Box Office if you do not wish to attend. ACMI apologies for any inconvenience.
