screening dates change for acmi's australian premiere season of jonathan demme's the agronomist

Due to unforeseen circumstances, ACMI has had to reschedule its Australian premiere season of Jonathan Demme's The Agronomist.

Instead of screening Friday 20 May to Sunday 22 May as originally scheduled, The Agronomist will now screen the weekend Friday 27 to Sunday 29 May.

The new documentary feature from Oscar-winning director Jonathon Demme (Silence of the Lambs), is screening as part of ACMI's new Future Classics program, a monthly weekend showcase which will give audiences the chance to see new international features garnering acclaim on the festival circuit, but not currently in distribution in Australia.

The Agronomist is about assassinated Haitian activist Jean Dominique (film producer & manager of Haiti's most influential radio station) and his fight to bring democracy, social justice and independence to his country. Dominique challenged Haiti's notorious dictator Papa Doc Duvalier, his son, Baby Doc, and the military juntas, and helped bring to power the about the democratically elected government of Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

New session times and more information about The Agronomist is available here.

ACMI apologies for any inconvenience.
