Archbishop Oscar Romero
 Agustin Farabundo Marti |
Melbourne-based documentary filmmaker Salvador Castro (
El Cambio Es Hoy) presents his latest work, which looks at contemporary El Salvador through the prism of three celebrated figures from its past: social justice and peace activist Archbishop Oscar Romero (1917-1980), revolutionary leader Agustin Farabundo Marti (1893-1932) and left-wing poet Roque Dalton (1935-1975).
Composed of archival footage, photos and contemporary reflections on these three, Castro then turns his camera on the March 2006 municipal elections.
The film will be introduced by Castro who will also participate in a Q&A following the film.
