Short Cuts
A revealing insight into the production of Short Cuts, featuring interviews with most of the twenty-two principal cast members, director Robert Altman and collaborator Frank Barhydt (with whom Altman worked to adapt Raymond Carver's stories, and one poem, into the screenplay for his kaleidoscopic film).

American writer and poet, Tess Gallagher - Carver's widow and devoted keeper of his estate - also appears, offering her own response to Altman's 'take' on Carver's work. In Carver's writing, she suggests, "the menace and tension are held in; in Altman's [film] they are acted out".

An illuminating primer to get you in the mood for - or reacquainted with - the feature film. Australian theatrical premiere.
