Jamaica Inn
Hitchcock's final British film before his departure for Hollywood is this stormy melodrama about a young girl who goes to live with her aunt and is inadvertently caught between a gang of murderous pirates, a ruthless squire and a noble young naval officer.

Featuring the larger-than-life Charles Laughton, Jamaica Inn signalled a distinct change in pace, swapping spies for grand shipwreck sequences.

After crossing the Atlantic, Hitchcock continues to direct adaptations from Daphne Du Maurier's novels. This creative union would go on to bore two of his most well-known films, Rebecca and The Birds.

New imported 35mm print.
