Hot Blood
Well described as a "visually lurid gem", this rarely seen musical/melodrama by Nicolas Ray embodies all the charged eroticism for which this director was famous, as Jane Russell and Cornell Wilde battle it out in the sexual power stakes.

Set in a Los Angeles gypsy community, against a backdrop of musical numbers, bold strikes of colour and dance routines, Stephen (Wilde) is tricked by his brother the Gypsy King (Luther Adler) into an arranged marriage with flamboyant seductress Annie (Russell).

On release, the tagline to Hot Blood read "Jane Russell shakes her tambourines and drives Cornel Wilde!"... now really, who could resist? Imported 35mm print!
