'Glen' and 'Sydney' are westernised young Indians who answer American 1-800 numbers in a Mumbai call centre. They sleep during the day and work nights, following American business hours, pore over US shopping catalogues and receive briefings on American values.
Not everyone at the call centre is sold on the notion of the American dream, but others, like Nadia, have literally morphed into a very particular kind of hybrid cultural persona.
"An astonishing look at the souls of the outsourced. This documentary finds an entirely original and fitting language to express the eerie dislocation of virtual work." 2005 Toronto International Film Festival.
Australian premiere.
