Members of the Australian Film Institute play an active role in the judging process for the AFI Awards, and have the opportunity to vote for Best Film, Best Foreign Film, Best Documentary, Best Short Fiction and Best Animation. AFI members with professional accreditation are eligible to vote in the feature film craft categories such as acting, screenplay and direction, according to their craft expertise.

During the month of September, the AFI is holding its Member Judging Screenings at ACMI. All AFI voting members have the opportunity to view the nominated Short Fiction, Short Animation and Documentary films, as well as selected feature films not yet commercially released or screened prior to March 2003. These screenings are free for AFI members plus one guest. All members wishing to participate in this year's voting process must register by completing the online registration form at www.afi.org.au. Alternatively, you can contact the AFI membership team during office hours on 1300 139 697 or email membership@afi.org.au
