A film that redefines low-budget horror, Undead took out the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2003 Melbourne International Film Festival. Writer/directors Michael and Peter Spierig were honoured for "daring to be.part of a popular, disreputable genre.an entertainment that is also political, while showing the pleasures of hands-on filmmaking."

Peaceful, rustic Berkeley is a charming fishing community where life is sweet and the people friendly. All that is about to change. An avalanche of meteorites bombards the town, heralding an otherworldly infection. The living dead are awakened and local girl Rene (Felicity Mason) finds herself caught in a nightmare of zombies hungry for human flesh.
