The Lumiére Cinématograph

The Cinématograph, invented by Auguste and Louis Lumière, was a combined camera, projector and printer. Here, it is set up for projection, using a magic lantern lamphouse as a light source. With a similar Cinématograph, the Lumière Brothers gave the first cinema show at the Grand Café on the boulevard des Capucines in Paris on 28 December 1895.
