phd4000.html - Prologue
File Note: The document phd4000.html has been criticised (verbally, not in print), as being somewhat simplistic. It must be remembered however that at the time of my eighth birthday, 1954, I had neither seen nor heard of television, I had never seen a live stage play and had rarely, if ever, been to the cinema. I think it is quite proper to recall those early days of radio with some nostalgia, innocence and indeed awe.

phd4700.html - Further Exploration: "Just keep on sending those cards and letters"
File Note: The original document phd4700.html was first put on-line in late 1995. Documentation (almost all electronic mail), both to and from this and the Radio Australia site has been retained throught the period of study (1995 - 1998) and will be collated and presented here in 1998 as part of my final submission. (see note: 2)
The often large amount of 'postal data' that accompanies most electronic mail will be edited out leaving the five key components - date sent, sender's name, recipient's name (usually the candidate's), the subject title and finally, the body of the message.
(2) First draft posted, May 18, 1998
