something strange going on in your neighbourhood?

In these troubled times the unsuspecting public have a lot to worry about..crime, terrorism, lesbian killer bikini vampire girls..

Inspired by the enigmatic, the anti-establishment, the quirky and outrageous movies screened at ACMI every Friday night as part of our regular Freaky Fridays program, ACMI's Cult Movie Poster Competition opened a portal into the proliferation of twisted minds out there and gave our unsuspecting judges a whole new range of nightmare inducing terrors.

We fear we may have locked them in the judging room for a little too long, and have had to insist that Lesbian Killer Bikini Vampire Girls are not stalking the beaches of St Kilda at night, Fembots are not attacking the fair city of Melbourne, and leather jacket-wearing German zombie riders from hell are not hanging outside motorcycle accessory shops in Elizabeth Street.

However, ACMI still feels compelled to issue warnings to members of the public - particularly cheerleaders, old people, students from frat or sorority houses and drunk farmers in pick up trucks on quiet rural roads to avoid abandoned houses, cemeteries and dark alleyways, isolated cabins and not to venture out when there's a full moon.
