Kimba Thompson is a filmmaker, artist, freelance producer and arts consultant. She has developed and produced a broad range of projects addressing a variety of contemporary issues. Kimba works across art forms to create pathways and narratives for dialogue. Though her work she continues her commitment to question the notion of what is Aboriginal Art? Some of her latest projects of note include, Shit Skin, a short Indigenous drama, (Indigenous Unit Australian Film Commission, SBS and Film Victoria), Scar - A stolen vision, Permit Public Art Installation, (Current, City Of Melbourne, Arts Victoria ) and Urbanity 1 & 2, a highly regarded annual mixed media exhibitions showcasing works representing over 70 Indigenous artists from around Victoria (Aboriginal Affairs Victoria).
