In August 2003, Gil Loescher was in Baghdad meeting with Sergio Vieria de Mello, the Head of the United Nations in Iraq, when an explosion rocked the building.
Gil was one of few survivors in a tragedy that claimed many lives.
Gil's filmmaker daughter reacted by penning acutely honest reflections that became the voiceover for a visual diary which recorded her father's difficult rehabilitation and the family's recovery as they adapted to their fundamentally altered reality.
Australian premiere.
Apologies, Q&A with director Margaret Loescher has been cancelled.
