Oscar fever hits ACMI as budding Baz Luhrmanns and next generation Gillian Armstrongs gather for the announcement of the winners of Screen It! 2005.
Screen It! is the national moving image competition for primary school children, celebrating the next generation of filmmakers, animators and game developers.
Kids from all over Australia, from outback Queensland to suburban Sydney rushed to enter Screen It! 2005, submitting live action works, animation works, and this year, for the first time, video games. In the spirit of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, children were asked to respond to the theme 'Playing Games'.
And the winners are..

Winning entries received a cash prize of $500, and highly commended works were awarded prizes that included Lego Movie Making packs and Lego Games from the Lego Education Centre, and video game prizes from THQ.
Entries from the winners and finalists are screening at ACMI in the Memory Grid throughout March - a unique interactive exhibition space for students and the community. The student collection features some of the best and most representative work produced by primary, secondary, and tertiary students.
