    Head of Marketing (3 Year Executive Officer Contract)

    The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) celebrates the screen in its myriad forms. ACMI is a major, publicly funded museum situated in the heart of Melbourne in Federation Square hosting exhibition spaces, galleries, two state of the art cinemas, a Mediatheque and archive plus a shop and cafe. Supported by funding through the Victorian Government, in only a decade it has become the world’s most visited moving image or film cultural centre, attracting over 1.3 million visitors in 2014.

    Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with all Program and Business Teams, you will lead our marketing, communications and design activities. You will drive delivery of our overall brand identity, corporate reputation, positioning and profile. The role is critical in developing opportunities to engage new and diverse communities of interest, locally, nationally and internationally.

    We are looking for a creative, dynamic professional to lead this vital part of our business.  Driven by a passion for the moving image, you will have a strong network, a proven track record leading innovative campaigns, and experience driving digital/social-media change across the organisation.     Reporting to the CEO, this is a rare opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to make their mark by creatively developing private sector and government fundraising for ACMI. We are looking for a self-motivated, strategic individual to lead the growth and delivery of our fundraising program. This involves working across all areas from strategic planning and presenting proposals to negotiating and finalizing contracts.

    You will have extensive experience in the corporate and government development space, with established networks across the corporate, government and philanthropic sectors and a proven track record in securing private and government funding. This experience will be coupled with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to manage relationships at the Executive, Board and Government level.

    If successful you will enjoy a remuneration package that includes a success based commission component thus reflecting the importance of this role. This position is a limited duration contract of two years with an option to extend for an additional two years.     Visitor Services Officer: Casual & Part time Customer Service Roles

    Opening in July 2015, ACMI will present David Bowie is, which was created by the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London, celebrating the extraordinary career of one of the most pioneering and influential artists and performers of the modern era.

    We have an incredible opportunity for you to be a part of this exciting once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. We are looking for talented customer service professionals who:

    • Have a positive and energetic personality
    • Are proactive and confident in dealing with a diverse range of visitors
    • Are comfortable presenting to a group
    • Have retail / gallery customer management and service experience
    • Are able to operate calmly and effectively in an environment of high visitor volumes

    As a Visitor Services Officer you will be responsible for providing an exceptional experience for visitors to ACMI, offering guidance and insight into this unique exhibition, as well as ACMI’s other related programs and events for the duration of the exhibition.

    We are looking for flexible part time and casual team members able to work weekdays, weekends and evenings. The Visitor Services team works on a rotating fortnightly roster.     Where are jobs advertised?

    A position I want to apply for isn't appearing on the search page. How do I find it? 
    Conduct an open search on the What's Advertised? page (don't enter any search criteria) and locate your job from the list. Please note that the job may have expired and applications are no longer being accepted.

    Why am I asked for a username and password when I try to apply for a job?
    All candidates need to be registered to apply for a job, although you can search for jobs without being logged in. Please refer to the Application Process page for further assistance.

    How do I retrieve a forgotten password? 
    If you have already created an online account and have forgotten your password, please visit the login page for assistance.

    How long should my application be? 
    Your cover letter should be no longer than one page, your response to the Key Selection Criteria should be no longer than two pages and your resume should be no longer than three pages. We request that applications are a maximum of six pages in total. Please do not send any supplementary material with your application unless requested.

    What time do I need to submit my job application by?

    Do you accept late applications? 
    In exceptional circumstances late applications may be accepted, however this will be on a discretionary basis and you should not rely on it when planning your job application process.

    The length of the time taken to shortlist applications can vary depending on the volume of applications.

    Do you hold interviews?
    After the shortlisting process is complete, shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview.

    Will you notify me if I have been unsuccessful?

    Do you provide feedback on unsuccessful applications?

    Where will the position be based?
    We have two locations: Federation Square and Oliver Lane, both in Melbourne. While you will be based at one of these locations, you may be required to work at either.

    Can I still apply if I have accepted a Voluntary Departure Package from Government?
    ACMI is unable to accept applications from any ex-Victorian public servant who accepted a Voluntary Departure Package from the Victorian Government within three calendar years from their resignation or retirement date.

    Is there any other important information I should be aware of?
    Yes. Employment with ACMI is subject to both evidence of the right to work in Australia (e.g. birth certificate, passport or visa) and a satisfactory National Police Records Check. Please note identified positions are also subject to a Working with Children Check.

    Work Experience

    Work Experience applications for 2015 are now closed.

    Work Experience at ACMI provides students with the opportunity to assist with school programs in our state-of-the-art studios and cinemas; and to undertake curriculum-based research and administration activities with our ACMI Education team.

    ACMI offers a limited number of one-week work experience placements for secondary school students each year. Placements at ACMI are very popular and highly sought after. Interested students are required to submit an application within the period stated below.

    Applications for 2016 Term 2, 3 and 4 will open Monday 2nd November 2015 and close Friday 18th March 2016. Successful applicants will be notified in April 2016.
