ACMI has been named on the 2019 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies List

ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) is honoured to be recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative companies of 2019 by the Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine’s prestigious Most Innovative Companies List.

Ranked sixth on the Retail, Hospitality, Tourism & Entertainment list, ACMI was chosen from more than 800 nominated organisations across Australia and New Zealand for the product development of the Lost Map of Wonderland. The unique interactive map guided visitors through the 2018 Melbourne Winter Masterpiece blockbuster exhibition, WONDERLAND.

The map, co-designed with Melbourne-based digital creative studio Sandpit, brought visitors’ experiences down the rabbit hole to life by unlocking interactive content throughout the exhibition as well as delivering take-home digital content.

ACMI was also chosen for inclusion as an organisation which continues to demonstrate superior innovation culture, strategy, resources and process, which demonstrate a sustainable and repeatable approach to innovation.

ACMI CEO & Director, Katrina Sedgwick said “It’s wonderful for ACMI to be recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative companies. Our WONDERLAND exhibition is now touring internationally and we are extremely proud of it."

The annual Most Innovative Companies List is published by the Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine and assesses top innovations implemented in twelve months preceding it. The list is based on a rigorous assessment process managed by leading Australian innovation company, Inventium, in conjuncture with a panel of industry expert judges. For the first time in 2019, organisations were ranked directly against their peers across ten industry-specific lists.

The judges assessed companies against the problem that their innovation was solving, the quality and uniqueness of the solution, and the level of impact that the innovation has had.
