The Overlanders
When ordered to kill 1,000 head of cattle rather than risk losing them to the Japanese, Australian action star Chips Rafferty herds the cattle across the Australian continent.

The 2,000-mile cattle drive results in costly personal losses to Rafferty and his fellow drovers, but in the end their sacrifices are invaluable.

Based on a true story, The Overlanders was specifically selected for adaptation to film as a morale-booster for postwar Australian audiences and was the first non-British film to be produced by Michael Balcon's Ealing Studios.
