To commemorate Australia Day this year ACMI presents the Message Sticks Film Festival and Australian Stories programs.

As part of the sixth annual Message Sticks Indigenous Arts Festival in Sydney and in collaboration with the Indigenous Branch of the Australian Film Commission, Indigenous Screen Australia and the Sydney Opera House, ACMI presents the latest in contemporary Indigenous filmmaking.

The Screen Pit will be showcasing Australian Stories; highlights from the Memory Grid collections including Digital Storytelling, MAP, student and community. Australia Day featured shorts include Kombi Karma, where Kombi owners reveal their passion for the Beetle's big brother, and celebrations of Eureka 150th anniversary through the eyes of young Australians.
