Kung Fu Master (Le petit amour)
Kung Fu Master (Le petit amour)
Based on a short story by Jane Birkin, Le petit amour serves as a companion piece (of sorts) to Varda's earlier work, Jane B. Par Agnès V.

Set in urban Paris, Mary Jane (Birkin) is a forty-year old divorcee living with her daughters Lucy and Lou (Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon).

After a chance encounter with Lucy's friend Julien (played by Agnès' son Mathieu Demy), Mary is drawn into an obsession - a romance disconnected from reality.

An evocative portrayal of female desire that Varda described as an exploration of the "wanderings and errors of the heart".

Double Feature
