Amanda TriossiRenowned author, jewellery historian and lecturer Amanda Triossi will present an illustrated lecture on the venerable firm of Bulgari, the company's history and its distinctive and trend-setting style greatly favoured by the stars of the silver screen.
Triossi will explore Bulgari's association with the international film industry, which dates back to the 1950s when stars were frequently seen wearing Bulgari jewels both on and off the set. Elizabeth Taylor is known to have quipped that Bulgari was one of the great perks of filming Cleopatra in Rome!
Original film footage will be screened throughout to bring to life magnificent Bulgari jewels worn by screen divas Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and Elizabeth Taylor.
Triossi will also outline her curatorial work in mounting the first major retrospective exhibition dedicated to Bulgari, which was held in Rome in 2009 and featured over 500 jewels. A selection of these will appear in exhibitions opening in Melbourne and Sydney in April.
The presentation will run for approximately 60 mins.
