Michelangelo Antonioni's style reached its full maturity in L'Avventura, redefining cinema's representation of time, space and the modern world in the process. Louis Malle's The Lovers, a tale of infidelity amongst the affluent middle class, features a smouldering performance by Jeanne Moreau. In Station 307 Malle pursues underwater maverick Jacques-Yves Cousteau's endeavours in the Persian Gulf.
