Suspira
Co-presented with Melbourne Music Week
Dario Argento's masterwork Suspiria ratchets up the supernatural elements he was famous for and unleashes a barrage of sensory and stylistic effects in the service of a grisly murder mystery set in a girls dance academy.
Author Maitland McDonagh cannily surmises: "the world of Dario Argento is one of twisted logic, rhapsodic violence, stylised excess. [His] camera is alternately enthralled and repelled by ripe flesh and blood drenched fantasy."
If the trippy set pieces don't freak you out, the industrial strength score by Goblin will! For the first time in 35 years, the original creators of this classic score will perform it live in this not-to-be-missed once-only presentation.
One of the great horror classics brought spectacularly to life on the big screen and live in concert.
Due to popular demand an additional 10.30pm screening has been added.
