Family Life (Zycie rodzinne)
After six years away, an industrial designer (played by Daniel Olbrychski, Andrzej Wajda's principal actor) is called back to his country family home, now a dilapidated mansion, to find his father is an alcoholic and his sister a suicidal nymphomaniac.
Zanussi's second feature deals with several moral dilemmas surrounding the individual's responsibilities to one's family and oneself, and ignited much philosophical and ethical debate in the Polish press upon its release.
