RomaFellini's bravura cinematic valentine to the "history" of Rome is a charming, personal and visually breathtaking brew of documentary, surreal fantasy and autobiography (à la Amarcord).
The film contains many of Fellini's greatest set-pieces, including an extraordinarily staged traffic jam, the discovery of ancient underground murals and an ecumenical fashion show (with wonderful production design by Danilo Donati).
With a brilliant score by Nino Rota, Roma also features touching cameos by Anna Magnani, Marcello Mastroianni, Alberto Sordi and Gore Vidal.
