http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/ The poems are written in free form allowing for self-exploration through language. Participants are asked to consider the relationship their poem has to different images, supplied from ACMI's stock library. Students will use a simple editing package to begin to cut and assemble their Digital Poetry.
The participants are encouraged to take into account text, style and screen composition whilst creating their Digital Poem and have the opportunity to use transitions and effects to complete the editing process. The Digital Poetry will be set to original music that students will create themselves by using the computer program
Garage Band.
Digital Poetry is a simple yet evocative engagement with the world of poetry and the moving image allowing an extended creative process that brings poetry to motion.
This program is designed to:
- extend students understanding of the writing and editing process of poetry
- begin learning the technical elements of editing both music and the moving image.
During this program students will:
- write and edit a poem
- construct and edit a moving Digital Poem
- create an original soundtrack.
