Against the Grain is a series of stories from women who explore the challenges of farm life and show passion and leadership among women involved in agriculture. Sinking boats, pirates and transit camps were experiences for many as they made this dangerous journey. Marking the 30th anniversary of the first wave of migration, this project was produced in collaboration with Belgium Street Neighbourhood House.

Many migrants came to Australia under the Post War Immigration Scheme, starting their journey at the Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre. In partnership with the Bonegilla Former Residents Association (Vic) Inc and members of the Polish, Greek and Hungarian communities, a group of women share their memories of Bonegilla and migrating to Australia.
