Australian Identity on Screen


What does it mean to be Australian? Who decides? Since the earliest days of nationhood, film and media have played an important role in the development of a cohesive national image.

This 75-minute session of clips and discussion provides a historical perspective on the nation-building process and encourages students to identify and examine assumptions about Australian national identity.

Levels: Years 7 and 8 (VELS Level 5)
