Lecture Tim Burton and the Gothic Imagination

Beginning with the sinister The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) and ending with Batman (1989), this 90-minute session of film clips and discussion takes a look at cinema's dark side. Why are we so fascinated by outsiders and the unknown worlds they inhabit? Tim Burton's weird and wonderful films will be the main focus of this exploration of the Gothic imagination in cinema.
