| Shoe Biz: The Beat of Shod Feet |
Roger Leong, Curator of International Fashion and Textiles at the National Gallery of Victoria, is responsible for the
Sneakers: Classics to Customs exhibition at NGV International until 8 July.
In this specially commissioned lecture, Roger traces the evolution of footwear from early incarnations, to the development of athletic footwear, to its re-interpretation as the sneaker - the apparel of choice for an entire generation.
Screening as part of this lecture will be Edwin S. Porter's early silent short from 1903,
The Gay Shoe Clerk, plus Marcel Perez's 1914 futurist short
Amor Pedestre.
