Black Vengeance
An obscure hicksploitation curio from the era of grindhouse double features, Black Vengeance played the U.S. drive-in circuit under alternate titles including Poor Pretty Eddie, Heartbreak Motel and Redneck County.
Shelley Winters flies her freak flag as Bertha, a former burlesque dancer who presides over a backwoods motel. Holed up with her are her 'pretty boy' boyfriend, Eddie (Michael Christian), a sociopathic Elvis impersonator, and devoted lackey, Keno (Ted Cassidy - Lurch of TV's The Addams Family fame).
A good-old-boy sheriff (Slim Pickens) predictably doesn't turn out to be much help when a hip, black, recording star, Liz Wetherly (Leslie Uggams), has car trouble and ends up on the receiving end of (mad, bad) Bertha's perverse brand of down-home hospitality.
