Dracula Has Risen from the Grave
Dracula (Christopher Lee) runs afoul of a small town monsignor (Rupert Davies) with God in his corner when he pursues the cleric's buxom blonde niece, Maria (Veronica Carlson).
Hammer's fourth instalment in its Dracula series saw Oscar-winning cinematographer (and regular Hammer collaborator) Freddie Francis take the directorial reins after an injury forced Hammer stalwart Terence Fisher to drop out.
Francis extracts maximum mood and suspense with inventive staging and sets and makes effective use of Christopher Lee's imperious presence - in his third outing as Hammer's vampire-in-residence - as a chilling, more overtly sexualised Count Dracula.
