The Black Bull (El toro negro)
Set in the Yucatán Peninsula of post-colonial Mexico, this unflinching documentary captures with realism and humanity the life of a Mexican bullfighter.

Fernando Pacheco is a heart-warming and honest character, but also self-destructive, alcoholic, violent and impulsive.

Edited with a dramatic structure, El Toro Negro takes us through Fernando's life, fears, values and daily struggle in such a way that we can all find a bit of ourselves reflected in him.

Please be aware that the documentary contains footage of animal abuse and domestic violence that could offend some viewers.
